Truth or Lies?

Comments Off

On a private forum I participate in, we recently did a round of Truth or Lies. I had to come up with 5 lies and 15 truths. People then guessed which 5 are the lies. I had to tell each guesser how many they’d guessed correctly until someone finally named all 5 lies. Since I [...]

Well, I must say, completing the challenge multiple times isn’t as fun as multiple completions in other activities, but it does come with a certain amount of satisfaction. I’ve read quite a bit this past week–more than I read in all of January, I think. And not only are all of the books by new-to-me [...]

And since it’s all about Brianna today…

two more stories from our adventures yesterday. Really, my entire week has been one long story and she’s done something every day to contribute to that. It’s like some sudden signal went off in her head and she’s got to get into everything. *sigh* Yesterday morning, Josh was on the couch with Brianna, watching tv, [...]

The condensed version…

The word cloud of my blog. I’ve seen these in a few pages, saw it again on Jay’s blog and decided to do my own. Kinda cool! I’m guessing it takes the words only from the current page, not from the whole blog, archives and all. And since it also reads the comments, I took [...]

February TBR Challenge Update

Comments Off

I know quite a few of you have posted in the comments or emailed me that you’ve completed the challenge. Because I can’t use the laptop, I’m all out of sorts and was hoping to update the sidebar all at once when I could get access to the emails. But it doesn’t look like that [...]

The Horrible, Awful, Very Bad Haircut

Comments Off

This picture was taken just minutes before Brianna got her bangs cut for the first time ever. I’m cursing all you people who told me to cut her hair because it is HORRIBLE. Take a good look because this is the last picture you’ll see of Brianna until her bangs grow out. Her very, very, [...]

Purse envy no longer…

Squeeeee…a couple weeks ago Jaci got a new purse and dammit, I was jealous (I really love that purse she got). I’ve been searching for the perfect purse for awhile but haven’t found anything in my price range (the purse she bought is soo not in my price range). So I did some serious shopping [...]

Not until the damn fat lady sings…

This week has been a comedy of errors. Okay, not all of them are comedic but if I don’t laugh about it, I’m likely to go curl up in a ball under the chaise with my daughter (and I don’t fit, so that would be not only pathetic but just plain uncomfortable). I’m not going [...]

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
