A Knight In Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux is one of my fav comfort reads of all time.

So is any book of the “Only” series by Elizabeth Lowell

And the Chesapeake series by Nora Roberts

Wow, I’m a loser. I haven’t read a single one of those books! But I do have Dream Man, Bitten, and The Wizard of Seattle somewhere in my teetering TBR. I’ll have to check out some of your keepers, Angie!

Ohhh, you haven’t read Bitten? It was Kelley Armstrong’s first book and such a wonderful offering.

Lowell is one of my comfort reads, but I like her Rarities books better, odd thought that may be.

Knight in Shining Armor-Yeah-a lot of the older Jude actually-like the Duchess etc
    And absolutely Johanna’s Warrior Woman

Wow, I have only read Kelley’s book off this list. Thanks for posting it, I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these. And I second the comment on Bitten. Wonderful book and great sereies. Industrial Magic is excellent as well.

I haven’t read any of these either. *sighs* But I will look for Kelley’s books.

I think I need to pull my head out of the sand and extend my small boundaries as far as reading goes.

I think if Bitten had been the first book I read by Kelley Armstrong I wouldn’t have read any others. I found Elena sort of annoying in that book. But I sort of read them out of order and read that one second. I loved Broken though.

Great idea for a list! Although I don’t think I’ve actually read any of these. Hmmm. Must be missing something.

  10. Lauren November 16, 2006 at 3:01 pm #

LOL! I did something similar today.

  11. Colleen Gleason November 16, 2006 at 3:16 pm #

Wow! I’m a loser too…I haven’t read any of those on your list except for Naked in Death.

The In Death books are comfort reads for me, along with the Vicky Bliss series by Elizabeth Peters, and also some of the old Jude Devereuxs: The Raider and Wishes.

And also LaVyrle Spencer’s Vows, Bittersweet, Forgiving, and The Gamble.

    All comfort reads. Love them.

And from one Jim Frayne lover to another…thanks for stopping by my blog today and showing the redheaded love, Angela!!!!

I did a song list today. I haven’t read any of these books either *sigh*, now to start a new TBR pile.

  13. Darla November 16, 2006 at 4:02 pm #

3, 4, & 6 would be on my list, too, and with the same commentary. I’m surprised–I’ve actually read 10 of these books. Usually, I’m the one who’s lost. I think I’ll put the ones I haven’t read on my list to check out.

  14. Angie November 16, 2006 at 4:06 pm #

Well thank God for Darla ;) I was starting to feel like a freak, all these books no one had read. The fantasy books don’t really surprise me, but the romance, a lot of them are old 80s romances. I thought for sure there’d be more readers who’d read them.

I guess maybe they’re not visiting this blog–or commenting.

I’ve read 7 of the 14 (and have 3 of the others in my tbr mountain)… :giggle:

Love the books you listed by Garwood, Howard, Lindsey, Hooper and Robb.

I would have to add any (historical) book by Garwood would have to be added cause I love them all.

    Kelly

I did a Thursday Thirteen over at my place, but I’m not linking only because it’s all about politics. Sigh.

I just have weird reading habits, but I too haven’t read any on the list. Good to know they’re good nonetheless!

  17. Meljean November 16, 2006 at 6:33 pm #

Warrior’s Woman! I love that one. A huge guilty pleasure.

Also Dream Man and JD Robb. I think my Elizabeth Lowell would be Enchanted, the third in her medieval series.

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
