Psst Angie – I’m going to start blog stalking you until you post on my blog! I figured it works for May! ROFL :-) Don’t ban me, I’m just kidding… :muahaha:

Woo-hoo! Although I have to say, you haven’t just joined the ranks of recognized e-publishers. Samhain is a recognized *publisher* — just like all recognized pubs, from small press to NY. Way to go!

    We RAWK!! :boobie:

  4. Angie March 15, 2007 at 7:11 pm #

Kate, I guess I meant that only three epubs have gone before us, in that regard. I’m totally cool with being in the same category as St. Martin’s and Tor, lolol!

    Thanks everyone, still excited :)

Michelle, don’t feel bad, I comment on like…4 blogs a day and you never know which one it will be. It’s a very small percentage of the blogs I actually read. But I do enjoy blog stalkers :)

Woo Hoo! :jump: This is awesome news. Congrats to Chris and to you and everyone at Samhain. It’s amazing how far you’ve taken this company in so little time. And I’m so excited to be part of the ride.

Now to fire off a letter to RWA announcing my first sale to an RWA publisher. This is totally  news!

I would like to say that despite being Michelle’s (the Braden one, not any of the many other Michelles on the net) accountability partner, I am not accountable for her Stalking plan.

    Congrats Samhellions!

  21. Ciar Cullen March 16, 2007 at 10:04 am #

  23. Gabriella Hewitt March 16, 2007 at 11:11 am #

    Life is sweet. Amazing!

Okay, the truth is Samhain deserves it. I have picked up a few authors from MBAM and have been thouroughly impressed with the high quality work of the authors, editors and cover artists. Plus, Samhain attracts wonderful aspiring authors with awesome talent!
Not to mention the existing queens of the pen out there in the market already who are sticking with Samhain even though they have contracts with major houses. All of this says a lot about Samhain.

When it came to submitting and accepting a contract with Samhain, my writing partner and I saw the great potential. First class business woman, Chrissy and top editor Angie, and of course our own editor Laurie, a diva herself, are what sold us on going with Samhain and no one else.

RWA better give Samhain the respect it deserves!

  24. Michelle March 16, 2007 at 12:12 pm #

LOL May – I didn’t think you would notice that I used you as incentive for my stalking.

Angie – at least I’m a friendly stalker! I’m not violent in any way (at least I don’t think so). You’re the one with the :pengydie: emoticon.

  25. May March 16, 2007 at 12:17 pm #

I keep a very close eye on Angie because I’m afraid that she’ll do something to me like what she did to Jaci. :chair:

  26. Margo Lukas March 16, 2007 at 12:39 pm #

Yeah! I can’t wait to see our first sales in the RWR!

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
