That’s quite a recommendation – impressive. #15 hits home. Know what ya mean.

  2. Jaci Burton March 22, 2007 at 8:06 am #

I just read a book yesterday like that. A ‘could not put down’ kind of book. Love when that happens. :giggle:

  3. SciFiChick March 22, 2007 at 8:09 am #

Sounds great! I’ve been looking forward to this one too…

  4. Emma Wayne Porter March 22, 2007 at 8:09 am #

I don’t know… Maybe I was the only one who picked up on it, but I… Well, I think Angie may have liked that book a bit.

    :doglick:

Actually I was talking about a book YOU edited, that’s releasing next week.

  7. Angie March 22, 2007 at 8:47 am #

Oh. Right. I knew that. Hee.

Well, people can win a copy of that very same book here tomorrow for Free Book Friday :D

  8. Joely March 22, 2007 at 8:47 am #

Wow, this sounds like a “must read.” I just finished Moon Called and Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs, enjoyed both. I’ll add Bitten to my list, too! Thanks for the recs.

  9. Nicole March 22, 2007 at 9:00 am #

    Oh….I’ve been wanting this one.

  10. Heather Rae Scott March 22, 2007 at 9:15 am #

I’m still giggling at the “Share your wisdom”. Moi?

You sold me on this book. I’m with Sunny. One day I hope someone says #15 for one of my books.

  11. May March 22, 2007 at 9:17 am #

Purely out of curiosity, dearest Angie, did you come by my blog bright and early this morning to make sure that I see this review?

Forgive me, if this is not the case. :hide:

  12. Meljean March 22, 2007 at 9:20 am #

Agh! I’ve been wanting this book ever since I saw the cover. And now I find out it’s beyond awesome? Aggggh!

  13. Angie March 22, 2007 at 9:20 am #

Er, no. I came by because I was hitting the TT’s on my blog feed before I started working for the day. I’d say you seeing this is an added bonus, but I think you read my blog anyway :D

  14. Angie March 22, 2007 at 9:22 am #

I would feel sorry for you, Meljean, but I keep hearing about ARCs of Demon Moon making the rounds, so the well here is dry. Dry I say. Dry as the desert. No sympathy for you. Move along.

But before you go…it’s awesome and you have to wait until June. Maybe I’ll re-read it this weekend :neenerghost:

  15. Tilly Greene March 22, 2007 at 9:26 am #

Number 8 did it for me! Bitten is the best Armstrong book…even though I buy them, they languish in my TBR pile. To me, her voice and focus changed after this one.

  16. May March 22, 2007 at 9:27 am #

    Demon Moon was FAB. :neenerghost:

  17. Meljean March 22, 2007 at 9:31 am #

LOL! It’s on its way. Just don’t read it now when you’ve got the STRAY afterglow *g*

  18. Angie March 22, 2007 at 9:32 am #

I’m right there with you, Tilly. I loved Bitten and Stolen, somewhat, but I guess I really loved Clay and Elena. I didn’t care about all the other characters as much. I wanted more books about them!

  19. Angie March 22, 2007 at 9:37 am #

Poor May. Now I have Demon Moon. :fire:

  20. May March 22, 2007 at 9:41 am #

I really am not jealous. It’s kinda hard to be jealous when having it would only mean it gets dumped on the TBR pile–reading slump here.

I was just checking to see whether your MQ (Meanness Quotient) was still at Evil Genius level. But it’s not. It’s fallen to Average Mortal. :sigh:

  21. Amanda Young March 22, 2007 at 9:47 am #

Sounds like a good book. I’ll have to add it to the ever-growing TBB pile.

  22. Annmarie McKenna March 22, 2007 at 10:02 am #

Oh, man that sounds good. 512 pages??? And so you slept the whole next day?

  23. Angie March 22, 2007 at 10:05 am #

Yeah right. That would mean not answering emails or delivering edits. The world would end!

  24. Angie March 22, 2007 at 10:16 am #

Oh, no one told me Mr. Linky wasn’t working. I forgot to input the script when I switched to a new theme. It works now :)

  25. Annie March 22, 2007 at 10:35 am #

Sounds like a fantastic book. One to definitely add to my To Be Bought list.

And hopefully I’ll be hitting the B&N in Salisbury this weekend to start making a dent in that list.

    Happy TT!

  26. Larissa Ione March 22, 2007 at 10:37 am #

I’m DYING to read this! And psst…Meljean…I loved Demon Angel!

Angie, I’ll try to get a Mr. Linky up and running. Without melting my blog or website…

  27. Christine d'Abo March 22, 2007 at 10:38 am #

I love Kelley’s books and this sounds awesome! When is it coming out?? I need to look it up and preorder. Thanks for sharing. :cheer:

  28. Sydney March 22, 2007 at 10:46 am #

512 pages…Did you even go to bed? LOL I still have Bitten around here somewhere. Must check that out now that I’ve been reminded.

  29. Jana J. Hanson March 22, 2007 at 10:48 am #

“Bitten” (and “Dime Store Magic”) were my favorite Kelley Armstrong books. I’m waiting for June to arrive so I can snag this book!!

  30. Rachel Vincent March 22, 2007 at 10:49 am #

Oh my gosh! Thank you! You’ve made my entire day. No, my month! I’m seriously grinning so hard my jaws hurt.

Thank you. This is one of the first reviews to come in, and I’ve been really nervous. ;-)

Oh, and I’m adding the other books mentioned here (the ones I haven’t read) to my list.

  31. Angie March 22, 2007 at 10:59 am #

Oooh, I like being one of the first. You’re welcome. I’m excited for you, now, for the release and other people to read it. It really was a fun, fun read.

  32. Anni March 22, 2007 at 11:26 am #

Sounds wonderful, Angie. I love the cover, reminds me of Shi’s Hunting the Hunter. Who is the pub?

    I’m up too. Come visit!

  33. Emma S March 22, 2007 at 11:55 am #

Frankly I think the cover would sell me if your review didn’t. It’s super pretty!

  34. Karen Erickson March 22, 2007 at 12:44 pm #

Oh my you must have been up soooo late. But I’ve done that before – once you start it you just can’t stop! It sounds great…

:doglick: Aw that’s a cute smiley.

  35. Lauren March 22, 2007 at 1:39 pm #

This one is on my TBB list. I love the cover and the comparison to Bitten is enough to really make me want it.

  36. RG March 22, 2007 at 1:54 pm #

Wow! Okay now I have to read it. Although I may skip the gory parts.

  37. Shelli Stevens March 22, 2007 at 1:57 pm #

Wow, that’s a lot of reading! Sounds like a good books. :)

  38. Shannon March 22, 2007 at 2:07 pm #

Hey, I wanna win that Free Book Friday book!

    :bdance:

  39. Michelle March 22, 2007 at 2:20 pm #

Oh this does look good. I’ll have to put it on my ever growing list. I love good books. I just finished Kiss Me Deadly by Susan Kearney and I really liked it.

  40. Amelia Elias March 22, 2007 at 3:28 pm #

 Sounds like an excellent book!

  41. Maria Duncan March 22, 2007 at 4:27 pm #

    13. I flipped to the end halfway through the book, because dammit, I HAD to know.

    You naughty naughty girl….

  42. Kate Davies March 22, 2007 at 5:45 pm #

How have I not heard of this book before today? Have I been living under a rock?

Whatever, it’s now at the top of my TBB list. Thanks for the hint, Angie!

  43. spyscribbler March 22, 2007 at 6:59 pm #

    512 pages that are page-turning and fast-paced??? I’m sold!

    Happy TT!

  44. Daisy Dexter Dobbs March 22, 2007 at 7:14 pm #

Thanks for telling me about the Fat Rant video, Angie. It was fabulous.

And thanks for stopping by to visit my first TT!

  45. Jane March 22, 2007 at 7:54 pm #

I hate you and your stupid arcs.
    :nocomment:

Who do I have to do to get one of these? Have you read Annette Kurtis Clause’s Blood and Chocolate?

  46. Angie March 22, 2007 at 7:59 pm #

I can’t believe YOU are cussing at ME about ARCs. Aren’t you on the list for a bazillion publishers to just send ARCs to out by the boxload? After the whole Kelley Armstrong/No Humans Involved thing, you can’t even comment.

No, I haven’t read Blood and Chocolate. I’ll have to look it up, is it good?

  47. Jane March 22, 2007 at 8:24 pm #

Oh, Angie, it’s fabulous. I love a good werewolf book (as you may know by my love for kelley armstrong) and Blood and Chocolate does a great job showing the strain between wanting to be normal or at least fitting in and glorying in the wolf. Your synopsis actually reminded me quite a bit of the book. I think you would really enjoy it.

It’s been out for a while but was recently re-released. (I googled it. It’s by Annette Curtis Klause not Kurtis Clause).

As for my boatload of arcs, I don’t know where you get that idea. :sigh: I wish that were true. I’m going to go fondle my Kelley Armstrong book now.

  48. Rene March 22, 2007 at 10:58 pm #

Wow, sounds like a great book, thanks for sharing. I’m always looking for new authors in this genre.

  49. Cherie J March 23, 2007 at 2:10 pm #

    Sounds really good!

  50. Dana Pollard March 23, 2007 at 3:09 pm #

Ok, you taunted your readers here about STRAY. I’m going to taunt too. (Rachel’s gonna kill me. hehe)

I read STRAY over a year ago. In its pre-agented/pre-published stages and was blown away. Being Rachel’s buddy, I’ve also read her second book in the series, ROGUE. heh heh heh Its even better.

She’s finishing the 3rd book, which is way cool. And my lips are sealed on what’s she’s got up her sleeve for other ideas. :)

I’m glad you liked STRAY and you’ll LOVE ROGUE.

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
