Biceps is always biceps (though if you’re speaking of both biceps, it could also be bicepses, but that’s kind of awkward, eh?). You have a biceps on each arm. There is no bicep. It is a biceps muscle. Actually it’s the biceps brachii if we’re getting really technical. Shortened version: biceps. So, she grabs his [...]

The second interview I did this week. Can you tell I’m feeling the love? Sarah of Smart Bitches asks me some very hard questions about books I’m afraid to admit I love. Telling things like that on Smart Bitches is a bit like the thought of taking my clothes off in public; Enough to make [...]

But part of that is because I filled out two interviews and helped with a blog post this week elsewhere. Who has time for their own blog Today I’m at December Quinn’s blog answering some questions about epublishing. Make sure you check out her previous Friday interviews from editors Raelene Gorlinsky of Ellora’s Cave, Treva [...]

Yeah, as if all my posts on the purses I lust after aren’t a clue? And we know I’ve recently become addicted to Etsy, where I want to spend lots of money and buy stuff. So when I saw this post for this contest to win a purse by someone who sells on Etsy, well, [...]

I was supposed to go to an art show yesterday afternoon, but about halfway there Josh called me and said he needed the truck to go pick up Brianna (it’s the only vehicle we have that has air conditioning right now). It was too hot to contemplate driving out there without air, so I ended [...]

I’m done. Two nights in a row of staying out late at the bar and I could probably sleep for a week. And just to clarify, those late nights didn’t even include heavy drinking. One drink each night. Yeesh. I guess I’m not 21 anymore, where I could party all night, drink heavily and get [...]

Well it’s my birthday too, yeah! Yes, the end of my “birthday week” is drawing to a close. So sad. But the end has been much better than the beginning, for darn sure. Last night was mom’s night out and there were ten of us for dinner, drinks and karaoke. We had good conversation and [...]

There must be a post in my head somewhere…but it’s sure not easy to find! Tonight is Mom’s Night Out and I’ve been frantically dosing myself with Airborne the last two days to fight off this cold Brianna’s lovingly shared with me. It seems to be working because I don’t feel too awful, all things [...]

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
