I like them all, but I’d go for #2 if it’s a conference/work thing. You look awesome (rather hot really LOL) in all of them, really, but the 2nd one seems more professional.

You are beautiful in all three. (The third one is really sexy. Fer real.)

I vote #2 as you look like a movie star in that one.

Now I am jealous at how much prettier you are than me. Dammit! I hate being so shallow. But facts are facts. You are prettier and I am a jealous, shallow beast.

I’d go with #2 as well. Although #3 is a great picture. Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day.

All three are awesome, but I’d pick the second. It shows off your eyes and smile best — and I love the nose ring! 🙂

I think #1 is most professional, but #2 is the best overall photo. They are stunning!

I vote for #1, though I like them both!

I vote for #2. Love the scarf!

Wow! Stunning photos – you look fab. I really like #2 – but for a picture for a brochure etc I would pick #1.

  11. Shannon Stacey May 12, 2008 at 9:02 AM #

I already voted for #2, but I’m voting again. ‘Cause I can.

Damn, you’re one hawt mama!! Seriously awesome photos, Angie!

As for the brochure, I’d say #2 as it’s more headshot. #1 looks more casual (more afternoon by the lake with the fam kind of pic).

Whichever you choose will be fine as both are stunning!

  13. Annie May 12, 2008 at 9:25 AM #

Oh, and BTW…. Hope you had a fantastic Mother’s Day!!!

  14. Marianne May 12, 2008 at 10:17 AM #

If #1 was just the headshot, that’s what I’d choose. All of them are lovely, tho!

My goodness, you are so gorgeous. Which I knew, but still–I like #2 for a conference shot. #1 looks a little precious in that application, I think I’d be all ‘who does she think she is?’ if I saw it and didn’t know you.

Now I have real anxiety about choosing the wrong one, lolol!

They are all fantastic. I think #2 is my fave, though. Honestly, it doesn’t matter, you can NOT go wrong.

I’d go for No.2 for a conference shot – but No.1 is gorgeous, too. I want those hips!

    I’m voting for #2!

#1 is my preference. The red is eyecatching, you look very approachable, and if ya got it (which ya do), flaunt it!

  32. Mary M. May 14, 2008 at 5:24 PM #

Awesome! I wish I could find a photographer who’d do such great shots of me! You look good on all three, but I love number 2 best. That scarf is beautiful. And for the use you describe, I think it’s the best because it’s a close-up of your face. You look open, engaging and relaxed, yet still professional. It’s just the right tone. 🙂

  33. Kat May 18, 2008 at 10:26 PM #

Have you chosen yet? I agree with Jessica–#1, cropped. It seems more distant, more professional. But #2 is certainly the more stunning personal shot. And #3 is cover worthy! 😀

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
