That was the theme for today at my house. This morning I started on the reorganization of my kitchen. I had this brilliant idea that I wanted to swap the food pantry area and the pots/pans/tupperware area, because it seemed like they’d be best suited if they were swapped. My husband, of course, thought I [...]

You might recall a previous post where I wrote about having bought a Wii Fit, despite the fact that I didn’t own a Wii, purely because I wanted a Wii Fit and they’re hard to find, so I got it “just in case”. Apparently, Circuit City is reading my blog (not really) because a few [...]

Call for submissions: I’m too sexy for my shape!

I’m too sexy for my shape! Bad boys and wild girls. Cats, wolves, dragons and hamsters (just kidding about the hamsters…really). We’re looking for the best of your shifters, no holds barred. Show us your sexy, your untamed and all the growls, purrs and squeaking hamster wheels (still kidding about this part) you think we [...]

I’ve been making lists of Samhain covers for some ads we’re going to be making. I asked this question first on the editors loop, they each gave me a list of around ten, and do you know, there were only something like 4 covers named twice? Everyone has such individual tastes, it fascinates me! Since [...]

I don’t talk much politics on my blog, because it does have a connection to my work, but if you watch my “Shared Items” on my right sidebar, you’ll see that I link to posts on some political blogs I read. Straight up, I’ll be voting for Obama, so of course my political links will [...]

***This post will have spoilers so don’t read if you plan on reading the books!*** I started reading Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series when the first book was released. I had never read Charlaine Harris before, but I was desperately glomming everything paranormal, long before paranormal was “in” (when I had to hunt out small [...]

I know this is an odd post, but I thought it might potentially help someone else out there. Today when I was in Walmart, I was looking for a new laundry detergent for Brianna. I was going to go with Dreft because one of my blog commenters suggested it as the only detergent that doesn’t [...]

If you’ve been following my Twitter the past few days, you know we’ve spent the weekend dealing with Brianna and hives. She came home from daycare Friday evening with some mild hives. We weren’t too worried because it’s something that happens every so often from her dairy allergy, if she gets milk protein without knowing [...]

McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. Passionately. There are so many reasons to hate them. First, if not for them, I wouldn’t even HAVE to order the Happy Meal. I could just get Brianna a regular meal. I wouldn’t have to listen to her ask repeatedly “get me a toy, get me a toy, get me a [...]

This morning, Josh called and mentioned he’d seen gas prices rising on his way to work, so I might want to run by Sam’s Club and fill up. Since Target is right across the street from Sam’s Club, and I’ve been wanting to run in there (though I never ended up remembering why), I stopped [...]

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
