You are having an excellent week! The car is gorgeous, and Brianna too (but you knew that).

I got a new fridge last week. 🙂

  2. Kira Daniels November 10, 2009 at 2:47 PM #

Very cool! LOVE the car!! I can so see you in it. And B is adorable. Thanks for letting us a peek into your life. And congrats again on the fab job!!

  3. Angie November 10, 2009 at 2:48 PM #

I would love a new fridge. I look at them every time we’re in Lowe’s or Home Depot. Hm. I think when we redo the kitchen counters this winter, a new fridge should be part of the remodel, don’t you? 😉

  4. Angie November 10, 2009 at 2:48 PM #

Thanks, Kira. I forget it’s been awhile since there have been pictures of B on this blog.

Snort. I can’t help but think that’s a mommie version of a drop-top muscle car. And, I’m totally jealous of the seat warmer.

  6. Angie November 10, 2009 at 2:54 PM #

Ha, Melissa! I told my dad it was my version of a midlife crisis, just a few years early.

And the seat warmers were something I was adamant on. I had this list of what I wanted and didn’t want, and the “cold weather package” was a must have, so every time the salesman walked me to a car I’d be all like “oh, this doesn’t have cold weather package” and he’d say “Sheesh, you’re set on that, aren’t you?” As I told him, if I’m going to plunk down the money for a new car like this, I want to get the options I want, not just settle, because this is my last chance for awhile!

  7. Malle November 10, 2009 at 2:54 PM #

OMG totally FAB car. Everyone will acknowledge your awesomeness when you drive this with the top down. It’s the car an editor in a movie would drive…

  8. Jaci Burton November 10, 2009 at 2:56 PM #

Nice ride. Definitely need to see a pic with you in it.

And of course the kidlet is adorable as usual.

  9. Angie November 10, 2009 at 2:57 PM #

Oooh, Malle, so it’s like I’m Sandra Bullock in The Proposal (only not as skinny and maybe a little nicer?) I like that!

Thanks, J. Yeah, kid is disgustingly cute ;P

  10. Megan November 10, 2009 at 2:59 PM #

Oh, wow, that is gorgeous. The spouse really wants the Clubman, the longer version of this. We’ve got many minis in our nabe–perfect for zipping around the city in. I assume you’ve already thought–and rejected–naming it “Mini Me?”

  11. Megan November 10, 2009 at 3:00 PM #

Oh, and B is so cute! That aquarium is the best, one of my closest friends lives in Baltimore and my guy wants to be a marine biologist (if he’s not a graphic artist), so we do aquariums a lot.

  12. Angie November 10, 2009 at 3:01 PM #

I’m not a fan of the Clubman’s but I think they make a more practical choice for a family or someone wanting more room, no doubt. And no, she has to have a pretty name. Too bad Carina is taken 😉

  13. Kristen Painter November 10, 2009 at 3:32 PM #

I love the aquarium! What a fun day. And Guy Fieri and a new car? Dude. I want that life.

  14. pjschnyder November 10, 2009 at 3:39 PM #

I love that aquarium! Those are some fantastic pics of her enjoying the exhibits too. Wow, the dolphin especially look great with her. 😉

That’s some wonderful stuff this week. Very nice.

  15. Jen mcandrews November 10, 2009 at 3:44 PM #

The photos of your daughter are fabulous! And she looks so happy — what a treasure!

I just flat-out envy the car – lol!

  16. Bev Stephans November 10, 2009 at 5:05 PM #

    That car is so cute!!!!!
    That kid is so cute!!!!

    Oh oh, overdosing on cute.

Seriously, I love that car. It almost makes me want to run out and buy one.

  17. catie james November 10, 2009 at 9:20 PM #

Wickedly cute car Angela and I’m totally not a car person.

  18. Mary G November 10, 2009 at 9:37 PM #

Brianna’s cute & so is the car. I think you should call it the ecar for epublishing. It’s economical to isn’t it?

  19. Jessica Kennedy November 10, 2009 at 11:00 PM #

Very cute car!!! I wish I could drive a manual w/o 1) stalling at stop signs and 2) being scared of stalling during a turn into traffic…… 🙁

Congrats on the new job too!

  20. Lori November 10, 2009 at 11:58 PM #

Why did I think you were going to say you were pregnant?

Love the car. My new name is envious.

  21. Highland Gal November 11, 2009 at 6:26 AM #

Sweet little ride you got there! I saw it on FB. You can definitely file this one under, “You deserve it!” Enjoy!

  22. ArkansasCyndi November 11, 2009 at 8:30 PM #

She’s gorgeous. She looks like a Betsy to me.

  23. Angie November 11, 2009 at 8:31 PM #

    Samantha. She’s Samantha.

And some day, I’ll share the story of how that came about 😛

  24. Lesley November 11, 2009 at 9:54 PM #

Congrats on your new car and job!!! Gosh Brianna is getting big!

  25. Patrice November 12, 2009 at 2:23 PM #

Oh my, Brianna is beautiful and such a cool little person! (I was going to say quite the little lady but I’ll reserve that for a few years from now. lol)

Congrats on the new ride! Absolutely right you want the bells and whistles that you want, it’s a new car for heavens sake! That is still a big deal IMO. Don’t you love that new car smell? Hmm a pretty name, something dark and sassy and fast and smooth and petite yet fierce especially in a corner. I got nuthin. Well Dark Angel came to mind but that’s sort of dopey. LOL It would take research, and that’s personal for your car. However, Mini’s are awesome. We watched a friend race one in the “off the showroom floor” class at Sebring a couple weekends ago. Literally they just put in the safety equipment required to race and no other special modifications and hit the track. Little sleeper rocketships!

  26. sraikh November 16, 2009 at 9:52 PM #

    Love the new car.
    I love it!!!

And the pictures, my fav is the one with the jellyfish. Did you buy a new camera as well>

  27. Angie November 17, 2009 at 9:28 AM #

I did get a new camera! I got a Canon Rebel T1i. I love it, though I know almost nothing about how to use it 😛

  28. Annmarie November 21, 2009 at 8:44 AM #

B is as adorable as ever. Her personality shines in every picture.

Samantha is totally cool. She makes me want a Samantha too!

You had a totally awesome weekend!

  29. Deborah Schneider November 23, 2009 at 1:16 AM #

I have a lovely little T-Bird – her color is Merlot and so I named her “Marilyn Merlot”.

Your car looks like a Black Beauty.

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
