Day two of new things to share

Something else exciting happened! This weekend, we took a trip to Washington D.C. for the weekend. We’d gotten tickets to the Metropolitan Food Show, and to see Guy Fieri give a presentation (he was an absolute riot, really. Very funny guy and I’m so glad we got to see him). I got us a room in Inner Harbor of Baltimore so Sunday we could walk around the Inner Harbor and visit the Aquarium. The weather cooperated so well, it was almost 70 for our walk around the Inner Harbor. Brianna loved every minute of the aquarium and kept saying it was “the best day of my life!” I got some good shots of her, here’s a few:

But in between our time at the food show, and our stay in the Inner Harbor, we took a little detour. To Mini of Alexandria. Where we weren’t really intending to buy a car, but four hours later, I drove off the lot in my new baby, a 2009 Cooper Convertible. I LOVE it. It’s fun, and so stinking cute, and amazing to drive. We got a fantastic deal on it, and I ended up with a convertible (which I really wanted) and heated seats (which I also really wanted) and butter soft leather seats (which I had ever intention of NOT getting but now that I have them…yum). The car is ridiculously gorgeous inside, with a mix of chrome and piano black trim, making it super shiny and fancy looking. Malle asked me today if it’s my Harlequin car and yes, I guess it is. She needs a name. The Evil Editor’s Reluctant Ride? Heheheh. Kidding! Something pretty and sassy. It will come to me. But in the meantime, let me share some pictures with you.

The top goes back part way so it’s a sunroof! I love that!

Like my styling carseat in the back? Yeah, I’m hot :P

Sadly, no pictures of me with the car yet. Hopefully this weekend when Josh is home during daylight. But there she is, my new car. All mine. Wheee! It’s been a good week so far.

You are having an excellent week! The car is gorgeous, and Brianna too (but you knew that).

I got a new fridge last week. :-)

I would love a new fridge. I look at them every time we’re in Lowe’s or Home Depot. Hm. I think when we redo the kitchen counters this winter, a new fridge should be part of the remodel, don’t you? ;)

Thanks, Kira. I forget it’s been awhile since there have been pictures of B on this blog.

Snort. I can’t help but think that’s a mommie version of a drop-top muscle car. And, I’m totally jealous of the seat warmer.

Ha, Melissa! I told my dad it was my version of a midlife crisis, just a few years early.

And the seat warmers were something I was adamant on. I had this list of what I wanted and didn’t want, and the “cold weather package” was a must have, so every time the salesman walked me to a car I’d be all like “oh, this doesn’t have cold weather package” and he’d say “Sheesh, you’re set on that, aren’t you?” As I told him, if I’m going to plunk down the money for a new car like this, I want to get the options I want, not just settle, because this is my last chance for awhile!

OMG totally FAB car. Everyone will acknowledge your awesomeness when you drive this with the top down. It’s the car an editor in a movie would drive…

Nice ride. Definitely need to see a pic with you in it.

And of course the kidlet is adorable as usual.

Oooh, Malle, so it’s like I’m Sandra Bullock in The Proposal (only not as skinny and maybe a little nicer?) I like that!

Thanks, J. Yeah, kid is disgustingly cute ;P

Oh, wow, that is gorgeous. The spouse really wants the Clubman, the longer version of this. We’ve got many minis in our nabe–perfect for zipping around the city in. I assume you’ve already thought–and rejected–naming it “Mini Me?”

Oh, and B is so cute! That aquarium is the best, one of my closest friends lives in Baltimore and my guy wants to be a marine biologist (if he’s not a graphic artist), so we do aquariums a lot.

I’m not a fan of the Clubman’s but I think they make a more practical choice for a family or someone wanting more room, no doubt. And no, she has to have a pretty name. Too bad Carina is taken ;)

I love that aquarium! Those are some fantastic pics of her enjoying the exhibits too. Wow, the dolphin especially look great with her. ;)

That’s some wonderful stuff this week. Very nice.

Brianna’s cute & so is the car. I think you should call it the ecar for epublishing. It’s economical to isn’t it?

Very cute car!!! I wish I could drive a manual w/o 1) stalling at stop signs and 2) being scared of stalling during a turn into traffic…… :(

Congrats on the new job too!

Why did I think you were going to say you were pregnant?

Love the car. My new name is envious.

Oh my, Brianna is beautiful and such a cool little person! (I was going to say quite the little lady but I’ll reserve that for a few years from now. lol)

Congrats on the new ride! Absolutely right you want the bells and whistles that you want, it’s a new car for heavens sake! That is still a big deal IMO. Don’t you love that new car smell? Hmm a pretty name, something dark and sassy and fast and smooth and petite yet fierce especially in a corner. I got nuthin. Well Dark Angel came to mind but that’s sort of dopey. LOL It would take research, and that’s personal for your car. However, Mini’s are awesome. We watched a friend race one in the “off the showroom floor” class at Sebring a couple weekends ago. Literally they just put in the safety equipment required to race and no other special modifications and hit the track. Little sleeper rocketships!

I have a lovely little T-Bird – her color is Merlot and so I named her “Marilyn Merlot”.

Your car looks like a Black Beauty.
