I can’t do it

Comments Off

I’ve spent all morning trying to figure it out. For some reason, I can’t get the files for WordPress uploaded correctly to my server. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I give up. I hate technology.

One of those fun “firsts”

No really, that was sarcasm. I got to experience another fun first last night. Brianna has the flu. She’s never been sick before. I think she had a minor cold once, and of course, she’s had some allergy issues, but no sicknesses. Ha. That changed yesterday. We were on the way home from my in-laws, [...]

Interpret this!

Last night I had what was (to me) an interesting dream, because of all the things that happened, and the various people, some of whom I haven’t thought of in years, who appeared in it. Near the end of the dream, Brianna woke up (at 4am) and while I was rocking her back to sleep, [...]

Web hosting…

I think I’ve pretty much decided to move my blog to WordPress in the next month, because I’d like to be able to tag my posts. I’m planning on doing some posts about editing, cleaning up manuscripts, tips for new authors (really basic things, don’t expect me to start pontificating or anything like that, just [...]

Good and Bad…

I’m going to do a round of good and bad, to catch up some of my miscellaneous news. Bad: I broke the Neon. Josh’s car (Mustang) is still be repaired from his car accident, so we’re down to just the Explorer. The Neon was literally limping along, I was only driving essential places but yesterday, [...]

I don’t have time to blog…

Because my editing schedule is tight. We had some changes last week so I’ve had to juggle my schedule and I don’t have time to dilly-dally. But since Brianna is currently in her crib screaming as though I’m murdering her, thus making it impossible for me to concentrate on editing, I might as well blog. [...]

A few things…

First, you can now reach my blog through two new addresses: http://briannasmommy.com and http://nicemommyevileditor.com Of course, the old address still works for now, because I’m staying on blogger, but I purchased those domain names for $3 each from iPower and set them up to redirect here for now. If, when I have some spare time [...]

Now on the schedule…

I signed a new author this week. She’s new to e-publishing but some of you may be familiar with her anyway. She’ll have her first book, currently titled Naughty Little Secret, releasing with us in Fall 2006. Samhain’s newest author In other Samhain news, reports are that our first three books in print (Forever Again [...]

What I want to know is…

When did Liz Maverick become the face of erotic romance? Recently there have been a slew of articles and several tv news reports about the rising popularity of erotic romance and its move into mainstream publishing. In at least 3 of the pieces (I linked to two above) I can think of off the top [...]

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
