Last week in the comments of a Dear Author thread, I told one of the commenters I’d take some pictures of the Sony and the Kindle, for a visual comparison of size, as well as the best visual comparison of the screen images as I could get. Luckily, I have a sunroom that gets good [...]

Confession: I’m completely exhausted and only the thought of failing out only the second week of the Friday Confessional kept me doing it. Brianna has the flu and was up all night last night throwing up. After the second time (and second bedding change) I slept with her, nearly got barfed on the third time [...]

I’ve had these two comments flagged to answer in their own post, so I thought I’d better get to them! Wyzwmn asked a question if you please why would you buy an e-reader over a laptop or notebook? wouldn’t it just be one more tool to haul around? I actually have a laptop. And an [...]

The Kindle…for Penthouse readers who come for more than the pictures. As further proof that some people read the articles in these magazines and don’t just look at the pictures, I was tipped to this by you know who. In the Tech section of the February 2008 issue of Penthouse is an article on “ridiculously [...]

Okay, I’m not really, but as some of you know, I’m lucky enough to have the ability to explore the different ereader options, thanks to my job. Samhain got me a Sony 505 and a Kindle this summer to take to conferences. I had been using an Ebookwise, so I have previous experience with that [...]

Big hat tip to lys, I’m stealing this link from her blog. You must check out these tooled leather Kindle covers. Tell me they’re not gorgeous and that you don’t covet one. I know I do. Specifically this one, the Sky Dragon. I do have to admit, my one concern about these is that because [...]

Right now, the odds on winning the second Kindle are better than winning the first. We’ve had a lot more entries for the first Kindle, for whatever reason. Despite the emails I’ve gotten from people saying they couldn’t find an icon (and just about every author has been named, so it seems different people have [...]

About Me

Angela James

There is nothing worse than writing a bio. And writing one for your blog sidebar? Blech. Maybe you landed here via Google, followed me from Twitter (does that make you a stalker?) or maybe we met at a conference or you clicked a link from a comment I made at a blog you visited. Hopefully whatever I said didn't make you so mad you came looking for a picture to throw darts at (yep, that's me up above, in my favorite cowboy hat) but instead drove you to find out more about the amazingly witty and intelligent person behind the amazingly witty and intelligent comment.

However you found me, who you found is Angela James, executive editor of Carina Press, Harlequin's new digital-first press. I'm passionate about digital publishing, my mission is to drag people to the digital dark side, one reader (and author) at a time. I'm also Brianna's mommy. At my blog you'll get an odd mix of personal and professional posts about parenting, publishing, books, cooking, sewing and life in general. Come back often, comment frequently and go green—buy ebooks!

Please note that this is my personal blog and my opinions are neither that of Harlequin, nor representative of their opinions.

Find Me Here

First, I blog once or twice a week at theCarina Press blog, talking about the job, the authors, the books and other things Carina Press. And, of course, you can always find me on Twitter. Or Facebook, if you prefer (mostly the same content, one feeds the other). I also run the Carina Press Twitter and Facebook accounts. Social media, it's where it's at (well, it's where I'm at, anyway).
