About my anniversary:
First, let me thank all of you for your wonderful anniversary wishes!!

Sorry to disappoint you but we didn’t do anything exciting for our anniversary– yet *grin* Yesterday was a pretty normal day. We did go out to dinner (all three of us lol) but then Josh stayed to draft a fantasy football team with some friends of ours (totally pre-approved and okay’d by me) and I went home and put the baby to bed. He did give me a really beautiful silver chain with a dragonfly pendant that I’d been admiring, as well as a bracelet with a heart within a heart pendant that has “I have found…” (my heart or love depicted by the pendant itself) inscribed on it. I got all sniffly and stuff. I’m wearing both pieces today 🙂

The good news is that my MIL is coming to babysit Friday night so we can have date night. Our first in… well… never mind. We’re going to go to dinner and then either see a movie or go have drinks with friends. We haven’t been to a movie since last summer. The last movie we saw in the theater was Spiderman 2, I was pregnant, uncomfortable and bored. We’re due for a movie! But it would be great to catch up with friends as well.

Charlie asked if we were going to have sex in the car. That’s so tempting. If only you knew how many times we have been interrupted lately at very, very bad moments by the baby waking. If I thought I could get away with it, I’d just park the car in the driveway and steam up the windows. Alas, I don’t think my in-laws would find that acceptable. Tempting. Oh so tempting.

About my blog:
Do you like my new blog template? I mentioned in an earlier post that it was created by Bec at Ciao! My Bella! I’ve written a testimonial for her over there, but I wandered over to her blog last night and discovered that she is holding a giveaway for a design.

About books I’ve read:
I have a blog entry all written for The Midas Trap, which I finished this weekend. I also finished The Stone Prince by Gena Showalter and need to write that up. Last night, I read After Midnight by Teresa Medeiros and will update with that as well. I set aside Midnight Rain by Holly Lisle for now, not because it wasn’t good but because I wasn’t in the mood for it. I’m currently reading Hot Rod Heaven by Melani Blazer and then will be moving on to… something else. I’m not sure what. If my Amazon order gets here, then I’ll probably read Charmed and Dangerous by Candace Havens. Which leads me to…

About promo:
Sometime in the past week, I mentioned that Charmed and Dangerous by Candace Havens was releasing in September (it released Tuesday) and that I thought it looked good. I didn’t have firm plans to buy it. Thought maybe I’d wait and trade for it. On Tuesday, I received and email from the author thanking me for mentioning the book on my blog (just mentioning it!) and offering to send me a signed bookmark. Cha-ching. Sale made. I ordered it from Amazon on Tuesday, along with 2 other books, and used the gift card I’d been saving. Good promo work Candace Havens! You made at least one sale through a little time and effort 😉

About Brianna:
She is stubborn and ornery and beautiful and it’s hard to be stern with her when she does something wrong and I scold her and she looks at me and grins her charming little grin. I have a very hard time keeping a straight face. This does not bode well for the future!

About other stuff:
Go to Jaci’s blog and see the pictures of her cute puppies. It’s an ahhhh moment.

Go to Mel’s blog and check out the info on her upcoming releases. She totally sucks at promo but she writes good books so I’m helping her out!

Stephanie Feagan posed an interestinq question on her blog. She ran into a situation where a woman had copies of her books- without covers- and wanted them signed. Stephanie refused, quite politely it seems, but she got flack from fellow writers over it. Go check out her post on the topic. It’s an interesting post!

Nicole did a fun post on books that have the same title. She posted book covers and everything!

About some questions I have:
Does anyone know where I can find what books Tor is releasing in their Paranormal Romance line in the coming months?

Anyone know why AAR’s auction for Hurricane Relief was taken down?

And has anyone ever read any books by Simon R Green (Nightside series) and have anything good or bad to say about them?

About Hurricane Relief, Blogging, and Donating Money:
First, let me remind you that Charlene Teglia is doing Read for Relief. She is offering a category length, previously unreleased book for $2 on her website. All proceeds go to Hurricane Relief. I’ve just found out that the fabulous Shannon Stacey also offered a previously unreleased book to the effort and it will go live in the next day or two. More details on Shannon’s book to come (she tells me it has both a reunion story and secret baby story LOL).

Update while I’m writing this: Charli has told me that Read for Relief will be an ongoing thing to continue to provide aid in the months to come. She has asked me to assist with proofing/editing/cleaning up the manuscripts and I’ve happily agreed. I hope this means further authors will be joining in the future!

There are a ton of auctions and donations going on around the blogosphere. Take the time to check them out and help those who desperatly need our help right now.

And last, I am going to respectfully disagree with Paperback Writer. I was going to post my whole explanation here and realized it’s a post of its own (three or four paragraphs at least!). And I didn’t want anyone to accuse me of burying it at the bottom of a post of miscellaneous stuff. So, I’ve copied it to a new post that I’ll put up later this afternoon.
