Erin completed two books for February’s Challenge of a new to you author, The Last Mermaid by Shana Abe and Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare. Reviews are after the jump.

Title: The Last Mermaid

Author: Shana Abe

Year published: June 2004

Why did you get this book? I can’t remember

Do you like the cover? Love it! That’s what drew me to the book I imagine. I don’t normally read historical romances even if they are paranormal *s*

Did you enjoy the book? Loved it! I’ve already ordered a couple more of her books from amazon! The Smoke Thief (still in hard cover) is on hold for me at the library 🙂

Was the author new to you and would you read something by this author again? Yes and Definitely! She was extremely skilled in creating characters and a world that drew me in. The Last Mermaid is actually 3 stories all connected by a legend and an island. The first 2 stories are set in the past (531 AD and 1721) which normally would keep me from picking up the book but I’m glad it didn’t stop me this time. The last one is set in 2004. Shana Abe created a fantastic story in The Last Mermaid. I can’t wait to read her other books! I’m sure they’ll be amazing if this book is indicative of her skills as a story teller. (does that make sense? *g* I shouldn’t try to use big sounding words LOL)

Are you keeping it or passing it on? Definitely keeping this one!
