Reviews from my March TBR reads after the jump. Very exciting stuff 😉

Title: Lord of Sin

Author: Madeline Hunter

Year published:uh…2005?

Why did you get this book? I’ve liked her books in the past and last year at Celebrate Romance, she was sooo excited about the cover to this book

Do you like the cover? Yeah, it’s pretty hot, although I wonder how many women in that time period had fake nails (go ahead, go look and tell me those aren’t fake, all sitting on top of her nail bed like they are)

Did you enjoy the book? Not particularly. I wanted to ditch it on page 12 but thought I ought to finish my own challenge. I found the characters not very engaging, the action flat and the plot predictable.

Was the author new to you and would you read something by this author again? She wasn’t new to me and yes I would because I liked past reads.

Are you keeping it or passing it on? Gone.

Anything else? Rosario liked it much better than I did. I’m not a good person to ask, since I don’t love historicals right now and this one struck me as worse than others.

Title: Waltz with a Vampire

Author:Maggie MacKeever

Year published: 2005

Why did you get this book? I don’t know. Taking a wild guess…because it’s about vampires? LOL. No really, probably the blurb caught me

Do you like the cover? It’s okay, I guess.

Did you enjoy the book? Umm…no, I don’t think I did. Oddly, I read the whole thing, but I didn’t like it. The author had some of the secondary characters speaking in a heavy Scottish dialogue. I had to squint my eyes and wrinkle my forehead to decipher it. I’ll send her my bill for the age lines I develop 😉 I thought the heroine was irritating. The vamp aspect was a bit blah. Nothing about this book jumped out at me.

Was the author new to you and would you read something by this author again? Yes and I don’t know. Maybe.

Are you keeping it or passing it on? Buh-bye
