Around 6:20. Very sad that I can’t sleep in on a Sunday morning, when my daughter (an early riser) is sleeping at her grandparents and there’s no real reason for me to be awake. But as is often the case, once I was semi-awake, my brain started firing. I’ve been reading the last of the cat shifter anthology submissions this weekend and there are some absolutely stunning manuscripts in the lot. One in particular is what had my brain going this morning. I found myself thinking about it as I woke up. It’s not really appropriate for the anthology for a variety of reasons, but oh man do I love it in a huge way. So I’m going to offer for it as a stand alone because I’m not willing to let it go.
So far this morning I’ve cleaned the kitchen, started a load of laundry and vacuumed the living room. Well, okay, actually Roarke is vacuuming, but it counts. I’ve also answered some emails and fed the cats and the fish. All before 9am. Now I won’t feel guilty if I want to take a nap later.
Yesterday after Brianna got dropped off with the in-laws, Josh and I went to the mall. I had a coupon for JCPenney. I think they send them to me because they know what a sucker I am. Get me in the store and I’ll spend money, even if the coupon doesn’t require it ($10 off a $10 purchase). I’m such an easy mark. He got measured for his tux (for being best man at the wedding in September) and got his hair cut while I shopped. Then we went to dinner. We were planning on staying out for drinks and karaoke, since it was his birthday, but by 9:30pm my poor husband was ready to go home. He was beat. So we stopped by the grocery store for some yummy dessert and we were home by shortly after ten. Clearly this week (our mutual birthday week) marks the week when we’ve officially gotten old, lol! But we had a great time and finally got some much needed alone time to talk and just spend time together.
The rest of today will be spent on the finishing up the submissions so I can announce the anthology participants tomorrow (I know I said the 19th but somehow I thought that was a Monday so, well, Monday it is!) and as my reward for finishing, I’ll let myself read my new ARC of Lover Unbound by JR Ward that arrived this weekend. *happy sigh* Don’t hate me too much.
