Just a head’s up that Day 6’s contest will be posted late tomorrow because I’m running out the door to a Christmas party and don’t have time to pre-set the post. Sorry about that!

Danish Kringle Cookies

Makes 80 cookies

* 4 cups flour
* 1¾ cups butter
* 1½ teaspoons baking powder
* 1 cup cream
* 1 teaspoon lemon extract
* Sugar or holiday tinted sugars, optional

To prepare oven: Preheat to 375 degrees.
To make dough: In medium bowl, combine flour, butter and baking powder. Add cream and lemon extract.
To bake cookies: Divide dough in half. Roll out each into rectangle on lightly floured surface. Using fluted pastry knife or sharp knife, cut dough into strips. Form each strip into figure-eight shape. Sprinkle with sugar. Carefully lift each cookie onto cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. (Note: Watch carefully; cookies burn easily.) Remove from oven. Cool completely.
